Reddit nsfw marketing for beginners

If you’re just starting with a completely new account, please read our “How to Warm Up a Reddit Account” article, if you already have a warmed up account continue reading here.

The Golden Rule: Be a Real Redditor

Upvote, comment, and browse your profile regularly. Build up karma by making meaningful comments/posts to the subreddits you’re genuinely interested in. Reddit is huge and has a subreddit for everything. So even if you’re out of ideas, start small, eg. there are subreddits like r/autumn, r/snow, r/nature, r/CozyPlaces, r/HomeDecorating, so pick something that you like and join the subreddit.

Start small, subreddits between 2.000 and 100.000 users

Popular subreddits are crowded with established users who already have high karma. They have strict entrance requirements, complex rules, and harsh moderation. When everyone wants to post there, moderators become extremely selective to maintain quality.

Subreddit Rules

Every subreddit has its own set of rules and requirements. Always read the rules before posting and follow them strictly. If you’re in doubt, skip the post. With so many communities available, risking an account ban is never worth it.

There are many different rules a subreddit can have, but here’s a list of some generic ones:

  • Must mark posts as NSFW
  • Original Content (OC) only: Many subs require you to post your own content (esp. amateur-focused ones).
  • No watermarks unless explicitly allowed
  • No links unless explicitly allowed (Keep the links on your profile)
  • Verification required for posting nudes of yourself in many communities (mods ask for a timestamp or verification photo).
  • Most subs only allow specific kinks or body types (e.g., r/BigBoobsGW vs. r/PetiteGoneWild).
  • Most forbid certain keywords (like “OnlyFans”).

The most important, non-written rule is this: Make sure your content genuinely fits the subreddit.

In our app we make understanding and following these rules a lot easier. You can review them from a single place, and we also enforce validation on each post.

Subreddit Requirements

Beyond the core rules, each community sets specific technical posting requirements that are just as vital to follow.

These requirements often include:

  • Title required strings (e.g., [F], [M], [OC], [GIF], etc., depending on sub).
  • Title blacklisted strings
  • Title min length
  • Domain blacklist/whitelist (If you’re posting URLs)
  • Flair rules: Some subs require proper flair (e.g., gender, body type, content type).

You can review all these requirements from our app, which automatically validates your posts before submission.

Don’t post the same content to the same subreddit multiple times

The system checks for duplicate posts across your account history. This is considered spam behavior and often leads to account restrictions

Don’t post the same content to multiple different subreddits

Yes, some accounts might be doing it, but it’s just a matter of time before they get banned. Reddit doesn’t want spam.

One post per subreddit per day

Minimal time between posts

Don’t post multiple submissions at once without spacing them out. Posting too frequently is a classic spam behavior that triggers Reddit’s filters. Even across different subreddits, posting too frequently looks suspicious.

The rules we listed above depend on each subreddit:

  • Some of them will say you shouldn’t post again in 12 hours, or in the same day
  • Some of them will say you shouldn’t be posting content you already posted in other subreddits, as they consider that as spam.
  • Overall you shouldn’t be posting the same content on different subreddits again and again.

Nobody will stop you from doing anything of the above, but it will get you banned eventually.

The risk is not worth the short-term gain. This is why our account protection feature enforces these frequency and duplicate rules very strictly, acting as a crucial guardrail for your account health.

Titles

Don’t use identical titles for different posts. Title reuse is flagged as potential bot/spam behavior

Summary

If manually tracking all these rules, frequency limits, and post history seems overwhelming, that’s where our tool steps in. We enforce strict validation on every post and act as a guardrail against all the common mistakes listed above, making rule management and posting a single, simple process. However, even with the best tools, you must still maintain human behavior—log in, comment, and browse to keep your account safe and thriving.
